Oh I'm a huge basketball fan...
And just to start things off right in here, I think I'd like to point out that the Lakers are going to fourway their streak (if you know what I mean), and I'll have plenty to be happy about again :D

Kobe gained 15 more pounds... I luv the Lakers(Lakers 4 lfe).... They are an exciting team to watch...
BTW, I still think Michael Jordan is better than Kobe, Michael can palm the ball and Kobe can't which limits him to be more flexible..

I agree the Shaq/Kobe thing is striclty combo, without one, there would be no success on the Lakers for the other...
Hell I worry everytime the Lakers play the Spurs...You guys are tough sum's-A-Biatches in Texas...Lakers Spurs is always fun to watch...I had more fun watching them play together than the finals themselves...:)

I love Basketball as well and am a pretty good player myself but since I move to FL I haven't really followed any specific team. I used to be a Pistons fan but they just don't have any players I like anymore, I guess I like the Knicks but I also like the Mavericks. I guess I'll have to wait and see this season which teams are most fun to watch!!!!

Lifelong Utah Jazz fan, here - although that might not be fashionable to admit anymore. I miss the days when not just Stockton and Malone were at the top of the pack, but the whole team was superb, when we had the kind of chemistry that wins Nobel prizes. When the only person who could beat us was the second-best palyer in the history of the game (I'm firmly convinced that Wilt Chamberlain was the best) and we plucked 2nd round draft picks from obscurity to guard Micheal Jordan.
Besides the Jazz, I've picked one team from each division to root for - about 4 years ago. In the Pacific, I like the Kings, Central it's the Pacers, and Atlantic the Nets. I'm gratified that two of those teams are doing very well. If I lived in Florida, like Lars, I'd be very tempted to start paying attention to the Magic this year, under the assumption that Grant Hill is actually going to be able to do anything.

they say that grant hill is feeling really good this year,i think the team to watch this year is the wizards they went out and got alot of good players and they will have jordan playing off the bench more than likely, btw i hate the jazz (they used to beat the spurs in the playoffs on a yearly basis)

The Kings are the only team that can beat the Lakers...they proved that during last year's Western Conference Finals. Since both teams have virutally the same group of players returning, I expect more of the same--except this time, the Kings will win (hopefully without the refs giving the game to the Lakers this time).
The only other team that I can see giving the Lakers a run for their money is the Dallas Mavericks. With Dirk Nowitzki getting better each year, I think they'll be a really good team.
And even though they're not going to win the championship, the Los Angeles Clippers are my favorite team. For the first time since the early 90's, they should make it to the playoffs after acquiring the #1 assist guy in the NBA, Andre Miller. Hell, on paper, 4/5 of their starters are All-star capable.

dallas cant beat the lakers in a playoff series, and apperently you didnt watch the spurs and lakers series the spurs should have won that series and the kings should have one the western conference finals series, that elbow that kobe gave mike bibby should have been a flagrant foul, the nba is getting to be more of a scam every year the refs give the lakers almost every call but the nba is a buisness and the lakers winning is good for the buisness

Don't go assuming things you have no idea about.
I watched every single playoff game televised--FYI. The Spurs didn't even come close to beating the Lakers; they only managed to win one game...the Kings won 3.
Hell, I even rooted for the Spurs to beat the Lakers (note: I am definitely not a Laker fan) so that the Kings would have an easier time getting a championship. My optimism quickly dwindled...
It was Tim Duncan versus the whole entire Laker squad. Add another all-star, and you might have a chance. At least the Kings pushed it to 7 games and over time in that seventh game.

LOL, I might not like the Lakers, but I watch almost all of their games to see if they lose. :D
Honestly, the only thing that I liked about the Lakers was Chick Hearn...he was one in a million. A loss to all basketball fans nationwide... :(
