Hello there,

I recently found two songs on an old cassette tape that I have yet to ID. Well, I actually have an ID for one of these tracks, but I have NEVER heard of him in any form anywhere in my enitre life. I've written Steve Lake - "Funk Punk" on the cassette sleeve. Anyone with info on this guy??? The track is heavy eighties synthpop with a touch of EBM light.

The other track is a total mystery. The chorus goes something like:
"What...in the name of love....are we doing?
What...in the name of love...are we losing?"

From the mid eighties for sure. A wonderful track.

ANY info on these Bermuda triangle mysteries would be met with typical Swedish generosity! ;-)

I'm not sure but the 2nd song might be from "The Naked Eyes". This the same band that performed "Always Something There to Remind Me" and "Promises, Promises".

Tekkrokk is correct. The second track is called "(What) In The Name Of Love" by Naked Eyes...one of my favorite synthpop bands of all time. It is from their second album. The track was released on cd for a best of..I believe entitled 'Promises, Promises, The Very Best of Naked Eyes' which was released around '93 or so.

Hey!

Thanks, guys! Y'all rule! ;)

I'll have to check out Naked Eyes! Any full album worth getting, besides the best of?

Cheers!

...I've tried to identify a few lines from the first track by who I think is Steve Lake.

From the chorus:
"You're talking to my firends and then you stab me in the back again...dragging up the past and then you stab me in the back again..."

Und so weiter...I really would like to know about this gem of a track!

Also some of the Neon track and unreleased Naked Eyes tracks are available on Pete's website. I particularly enjoy the unreleased Naked Eyes stuff.
