Hey Mike,
How would you describe this album? Are there any other bands in the scene that you would liken them to?

I agree with Mike on this one. Maybe it's my perception, but the recent Perfidious Words album seems to be sadly overlooked. "Spreading Silence" is one of THE most impressive sophomore albums of the year and such a huge improvement over previous material. Each of the 9 tracks are invariably unique and produced unbelievably well but I don't even think it cracked the DAC album charts (even with the amazing dance track, 'Visionary'??)
Don't believe me? Throw in "Veil Of Secrecy", the first track on the album, and tell me if it isn't so. People, buy this album. I implore you. It's worth every penny.
I don't usually give such strong recommendations, but I love this record.

I really dig Perfidious Words a lot, and if I didn't have already, I would jump at that cd...Easily a good listen to say the least...I was a bit disappointed at first with the lack of more upbeat songs as on Hydrogen Skies, but it grew on me a lot, and I find myself playing it more and more :)

Perfidious Words are an excellent band. I know the Depeche Mode comparison gets thrown around a lot, but there is a definite Mode influence there. Great disc, you won't be disappointed.

The main thing keeping me from picking it up is the 2000 currency cost...

So far, I don't own a PW album yet, but I have to say that "Without Pride" is one of the most stunning songs ever! Saw them perform life at a depeche mode party in Heidelberg and what I liked most about them was the fact, that they mixed with the crowd after their gigs. Like it a lot when bands do that.

I bought "Spreading Silence" before the Electrogarden currency was introduced to us.
BTW the first album "Hydrogen Skies" is re-released and it contains the B-Sides of their first singles.

Perfidioius words have a strong DM influence to their sound, but of that is something that turns you off with new bands, don't let it. they are to DM like what Camouglage was to DM back in the late 80's. you notice the similarities but then you get great material that is it's own sound. and you get some great quality. hydrogen skies is superb as well. there is no risk with either of their albums and if you like b sides, this is the band to get into, tons ogf them and they are all as good as the tracks on the albums.

It looks though we've all found ourselves in a sort of race for the CD. Looking at how behind I am I doubt as though I'll be one of the five who reaches it. Oh well, hopefully at least the Mesh album will still be there when I reach 2000.

The annoying part of all this is that all the good cds have such high currency prices. I mean it seems that there's the lower tier of 200-50 price cds, and then the 2000-1000 price cds. Why are they priced so high?

My guess is to keep them there longer so as to give all the newcomers an incentive to do onehekuvalot of posting. And also it could be to drain certain rich members of all their currency so that all of the low-priced CD's aren't bought by the same five people.

Or I guess the real reason is that those cost more to get in, and to be able to get those you gotta contribute more.
Thatīs the only reason Iīve heard about, and I think thatīs a good one.
But Iīve gotten some nice cds from the shop, and Iīm happy for that :)
