I know I know we already got the "Official Movie Thread", but I'm not interested in knowing everything...I want the cheese baby!!! What 80's movies do you absolutely love...Name as many as you like, but be sure to tell us what makes it so worth watching :)

Ridgemont High is a classic Dan!!! *hits head with shoe* "Dude!!! That was my skull!!! I'm so wasted!!!" Great movie!!! Anyway, I'm more of a sci-fi/action fan, so the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films are my thing.

"Learn it, know it, live it." That's classic! I use it in my classroom. :D

My favorite 80s movies are: The Breakfast Club, Steel Magnolias, Stand By Me, 9 to 5, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, plus a bunch more that I am forgetting.

Great thread, Dan. :)

*LMAO*

I was hoping you guys would get in this one sometime...I'm eager to see what everyone likes around here...And remember to keep it limited to the 80's :)

Ridgemont High is an all time fav for me...Why wouldn't it be??? Great acting, funny dialogue...Some of the best one liners to grace the cinema screens

Another one of my absolute favorites is Valley Girl..."Like totally for sure, barf me out, gag me with a spoon" Don't act like you don't know, cause all you crazy kids that grew up with me throughout the 80's know exactly what I'm talking about...This movie was just too realistic, from the speech to the fashion, to the music they listened to...Plus Nicholas Cage and Deborah Foreman put on a great performance :)

So keep em' coming guys and gals!!!

I almost forgot Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Porky's, Top Gun, Cocktail, and The Terminator. Plus a lot more I can't remember at the moment. I'll keep thinking........

I love Sean Penn. He cracks me up in Fast Times. I love his surfer character. "Righteous Bucks." Ahhhhh, Sean Penn. Yum! :D

I forgot to add the line:" no shirt, no shoes, nooooo dice." I love that line. I stole the no dice part and say it alot. I guess I am going to have to watch this movie tonight. Thanks Dan. ;)

Tron does rule...I finally found the DVD after a long search...I love that movie, easily one of Jeff Bridges best roles he's done...And the effects for the time are still ahead of somethings we have today :)

yup, TRON was great, i even got an original hardcover print of that film...Fright Night is pretty old school, but id have to say that Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are by far the most entertaining, - in fact i dont know which one i like better...?

...where've i been...

Yeah, I love that movie..a lot of fun to watch. As a matter of fact, I may watch it today. It is such a grey, rainy day here in the Metro DC area..perfect for a marathon movie watching session.
