Thanks to Joel for putting up the old school mix, rinse bands on DJ's Synthpop Bliss and inspiring this query...
I just pulled out my old Mix, Rinse And Spin comp from ADD, along with my Synthpop Rising, so I could hear Paradigm tear it up synth style...Man ADD had some great undiscovered/low-key bands back in the days :)
Does anyone know if Paradigm ever released a proper album/s??? If so, can I get some titles, or any other info on them anyone may have :)
Thanks
DAN

The only thing I remember them releasing is the single for "Soul Flight" in 97.
Just checked the sleeve on the single and didnt see anything about an album.

Yes, they released one album in 1996 entitled “LIFELINE.”
Here’s the tracklistings:
1. Fragile Thing
2. Desire To Love
3. Lifeline
4. I Know What You Feel
5. Superficial Love
6. Take Flight
7. The Reason
8. It Won’t Take You There
9. Pride
10. Soul flight
11. The Road
12. Put Your World In Motion
13. Share Your Light
14. Feel
It’s a FINE FINE album. You should check it out. In my opinion, it’s even much better than the new MONOLITHIC album !!

I think Midihead would agree with me here... But as good as Paradigm's music was, Monolithic's is better in many ways. From lyrical depth to musical complexity, Monolithic is superior.. IMHO.

Midihead had a partner with Paradigm and because of distance and creative directional changes (if I recall correctly) Midihead went his own way. Monolithic is midihead on his own.
I like both groups in different ways but Monolithic moves me more. Not necessarily my feet (although those also) but in my insides.

The album "Lifeline" isn't bad, but I think is too boring. But the unreleased second album "FEEL" is fantastic! with a DM cover and his best ever made song "Empty".
In my opinion, this is the order from the best to the worst.
1. FEEL
2. Power Un...
3. LIFELINE
ps: I don't heard yet the new album (I don't knew that was already released)

Dan, you did not see Paradigm at Synthstock 96 SLC? They were the 2nd band to perform that Friday.

You know what man, I'm sure I did, but let's face it, I'm horrible with names...The minute I hear some tunes from the album, I'll go, Oh yeah, that was them, they rocked!!! Besides, that concert is full of unhappy memories for me...Not from the performance perspective, just the people I went with...Remember I told you, we left very early :)

7red7,
Hey just caught this thread. We were the band with the video projection and the 3 tasty divas. That was a fun show. I was in much better shape then.
Paul, yes you are correct in that Adam and I definitely had our differences in opinion. I remember trying to tell him to experiment more with drum patterns...add more fills and variety instead of the 3 patterns that he'd recycle over and over and...
That was only one of many things. I was never allowed to write any music or have anything to do with the creative process of it other than what had to do with vocals.
FXboy: dude you're the first person I've ever seen to make that comment. Most people find the album "Lifeline" to be boring as Hajas stated. Not that the songs weren't good, but with my vocals run through an SM58 and the simplistic music...I think I found myself yawning after pressing.
JetJag: You're the majority, man. Most people feel the same way as you about Monolithic. I must be doing something right...however this next album is more on the experimental side...so we'll see how it takes. I like it, personally because it's definitely different than ANYTHING coming out of the scene right now.
Cheerz everyone!

I've probably stricken your curiosity now, haven't I? I just put a BETA version of "In light of the Dark" up on my server if you want a glimpse into my madness. ;)
Here's the tune: www.midihead.com/downloads/in_light.mp3

Thanks again for all of the info, Midihead, Mike :)
I picked up the Paradigm cd last week actually, and yeppers, I only paid $3.00!!! what a steal!!! This album is great...I love stripped down easy flowing synthpop...It's definately got that early 90's sound I really dig on, so you know I had to have it...But hey the Monolithic stuff is nothing short of great also...The live show at the Hully Gully still rocked the house!!! :D

Thanks for the comments on the 3 dollar album. I think that Todd has never recovered financially from that one. Sorry Todd. Hopefully my next one will make up for the loss...here's to hoping. BTW, if you've not checked out my new experimental track yet, better do so before Sept. 17th cause I'm taking it down. It WILL have vocals BTW. I know that it's different from what you're used to, but different is always good in my opinion.
Take care all!

Mike,
I like the new tune... interesting ideas.
As for the Paradigm stuff I've heard, considering that I heard of Monolithic WAY before I listened to any Paradigm I can definately see where the difference of opinions came in. Very much the DM model. I'm really sorry your partner in the whole thing didn't take to your musical input, he certaintly needed a better approach overall with his rhythm ideas (no offense intended, it just is what it is)...
