I was online at BBC Radio 1 and there is a really interesting 30 minute documentary on Electroclash hosted by Felix Da Housecat. It interviews some of the more popular electroclash artists and record labels on the emerging scene. Here is a link to the page:

What's up with all the Electroclash publicity as of late?

The documentary has the material playing in the background all the way through. Some of it is very good, and some of it is awful...just like everything else I have heard. I like the fact that electronic music, particularly a style so close to the synthpop style, receiving the attention.

My friend downstairs, came back from New York 2 weeks ago, and he said that he went to this club that mostly plays Electro Clash type stuff.... This is sooo new to me..

I visited DM official site, and Andy Fletcher signed this band that sounds very retroish, synthie, almost 80's sounding, maybe it's Electroclash... The only band I know is THe Faint.. Is Freezepop and Joy Electric electroclash?

No, FP & JE are pure synthpop through and through. Electroclash sounds like a mixture of old stule electro synth with club music...that is the only comparison I can think of..check out Fischerspooner or Ladytron.

Bt the way..I am no expert on this..probably the djs here could tell you better info on Electroclash. Check out the documentary on the link I provided at the beginning of the thread. It's 30 mins of streaming audio..it's very interesting and I'll think you will get a good feel for the sound.

haha, I always thought that this was a band or something, now I suddenly discover that itīs a musicstyle...cool.
However, I donīt know what to think about it, it seems so split! Like many styles in one...

And some of the songs I heard just sucked...
Like the Eminem-electronic-thing...

Sure there were a couple of good tracks in the background, heard a german talk, but otherwise...naaa...nothing for me...
