song ID ???

Here's a song I sampled from a movie. It wasn't a good movie, and the place I rented it from doesn't have it anymore, and I really don't want to buy it JUST to find out who this band is... fortunately, when I had the movie, I recorded the song. I would just write down all the lyrics, but I can't understand most of them, so... instead, I've uploaded it to a website. Here's the link (there's no index on this page, so you have to type the link in exactly).

I think I found what you're looking for. The song is called "This Independence" and it's by The Manhattan Transfer. I listened to a clip of the song on cdnow.com but it doesn't have the exact sound of the one you have, but it is the same song. Hope this helps :)

Wow, you found it! How did you think to even look at that band? Too bad the version on the album isn't nearly as good as the version from the movie. At least I know where to start now, though... maybe I can find the right remix somewhere. I'm very impressed!! Thankyou.

I just went to cdnow and typed in what i thought it sounded like the title of the song was...and SHAZZAAM! there it was. I gave it a listen and it sounded pretty similar, so...
