Recommended reverb/FX for vocals? What are your favorites and why?

I have a few that I like to use...I have a Korg unit that has great reverb and delay...also a Peavey DeltaFex unit, and for harsher vocals I look using an ART guitar effects processor.

I use a combination of the Yamaha SPX 90 II and the TC Powercore powered plug-ins. If you're processing vocals via a computer, I'd reccomend the TC card or the Mackie UAD-1 PCI effects card. Both will do more processing than similarly priced hardware stuff. The TC card is 1,100 new, 800 on ebay. The UAD-1 card is 700 new. The Yamaha unit you can get for 200 I'm sure. My other favorite efx units (hardware) are the Alesis quadraverb and the Ensoniq DP4. Cheers.

I have to agree with spankmix :-) i have a powercore card and it's amazing. i use the megareverb on pretty much everything since. i also have a uad card, and i like that one as well. but i prefer the reverb of the powercore card. also once you've used the compressors on either card there's no way back. both cards are well worth their money. the powercore supports third party plugins like the d-coder from waldorf for example. a 100 band vocoder!!! and you can get the sony oxford eq for it as well and more to come. great card!

Another great effect unit for vocals, and pretty much anything for that matter...the Ensoniq DP-4. It has some really crazy features for special effects. It also could be used as four seperate effect devices. You can pick up a used one fairly cheap these days on ebay.

Hey Ken,

Wow, didn't know you were a fellow Ampcaster. Listening to "Stargate".....my first impression.....you're me! :) I absolutely love it!

I wonder who else in synthpop is lurking out in the Pop genre....
