Hi guys,
I was re-arranging my CD shelves when I bump into KON KAN CDS. WOW...... It must have been years & years since the last time I listen to this CDs.
I have to say their music is so "happy" and enjoyable to listen to. They released "Move To Move" & "Syntonic" CDs and then......disappear. Anybody know what's the news on them ?
Playing "These Boots Are Made For Walking" now....... lalalalalal

Barry Harris, the only member of Kon Kan is now a DJ and remixer called Thunderpuss. He does mostley house stuff anymore. I have a few Britney remixes he did that arent all that bad.
Forget where, but I know he spins in NY a bit.
He did a remix of "I Beg Your Pardon". Its listed a Barry Harris as the artist and Thunderpuss remix on the lable.

WOW..... So Barry Harris is one of Kon Kan !!
I didn't even notice that !! Well, my bad for not reading the album credits. I absolutely know who Barry Harris is. Yes, he's remixed a lot of songs. Thunderpuss is a HOT name in a dance circuit nowadays. Thanks for the info EKSTASIS !!
I guess, Kon Kan is no longer exist then. I still enjoy "Move To Move" album, I think it's one of the best album ever came out in the 80's

Move to Move is my favorite album by Konkan. I just bought Syntonic at a discount cd shop a few days ago (trying to replinish cd's lost in the past) - Move to Move is way better.

Fortunately I was able to get the Syntonic tape a few years ago...It did sound a little too Spanish sounding for me, it still is a pretty good synthie pop record.. Syntonic was never release right? I can play "Glue and Fire" from the first record anytime and still have a good time.. I luv that song...
In 97, when we had Groove Radio in Los Angeles, they played a new Kon Kan track, I do not know the song title, but it's fast, kind of like Euro Dance style... Anyone knows about this single?
Anyone knows who Cicero is? if you like Kon Kan, check out Cicero.. Thanks Paul Synthpop for giving me a copy of Cicero, it took me 12 years to find this record....... For anyone who wants a free copy feel free to e-mail me.. Cicero's record "future boy" has been out of print forever...

:-) I just got mine too, Kellyrenee. I got mine for $0.75. "SYNTONIC" is actually pretty good. But you're right........"Move To Move" is better.

BORNSLIPPY --- "Syntonic" CD is available now, see I got it for $0.75. :-)
I don't know the single that you mean......hmmmm, maybe the track from "Move To Move"? "I Beg Your Pardon" was a BIG hit back then.
Oh yeah.....I heard they released the third album called "VIVA."
I've been trying to look for this album everywhere but still couldn't find it. Anyone knows where I can get this one ?
P.S: Bornslippy...... I'd love to get a copy of CICERO CD. I've heard one of their song way back then....... I think they're part of PSB's era. Am I right ?

Thanks everyone in here for some insightful information on Kon Kan. I still remember picking up the first 12" singles that came out a long long time ago for the first album. Ever since then, I became a fan of theirs. A truly missed band. I agree though, that the last album was not as good as the first.

I heard about the "Viva" album years ago and thought about picking it up. However, somebody (probably back on alt.music.synthpop) told me that it pretty much sucked as was unlike the other albums, so I never got it. I'd be interested to hear any more about it.

Viva did go a bit down hill from Syntonic, but the single for "Sinful Wishes" is worth picking up, and is probably the "more eurodance sounding" song mentioned avove.
For some reason he seemed to have decided to go back to the Move to Move sound for this one song.

Didn't they release an album called "Liberty" as well? Or was that a single? I remember seeing it on a trip to NYC in 1993, but didn't pick it up.
Incidentally, "Move to Move" was one of the first two CDs I ever bought in 1989 after purchasing my first cheap CD player. The other one was New Order's "Round & Round" single.

"Liberty" is the single taken from their second album "SYNTONIC." You can still get this album on CD now though it's already "out-of'print."

I've heard about "OUT OF CONTROL" but didn't know it's a part of Kon Kan project. Definitely more Euro-dance oriented....... Well, that's Giorgio Moroder style ....... Love "Together In Electric Dreams." That song is a classic !!
Gotta check out "OUT OF CONTROL" now. Thanks !!
