Hey guys I was updating my personal music list right now, and as I went to save the new additions, a popup window appeared and said that my "Exel program cannot save the current information due to it being a possible file sharing hazard. Please shut down the current Exel program and try again"...
I'm not in any way making this up...It wouldn't allow me to save the new file status...So I tried it again and got the same popup window, and then again the same thing a third time...It took four tries to successfully save it!!!
Either someone is a damn good hacker and is having fun at my expense, or the RIAA is actually trying out their new plans...
What's your take on it??? Anyone had it happen yet???

Well, that's scary! Were you online when you tried to save your info? I don't know much about computers, so I was just curious. I am hoping that it was just a pop up window designed to scare you and nothing more.

it likely meant file sharing hazard as in the excel file was somehow being used by another pplication. this would make it unsavable. sorta like when you wanna delete an mp3 that you're playing...it can't be done as long as winamp has control of it.
just a guess...who knows if that is the explanation.

I hope it is...Being that I have a cable hookup on my comp, I'm online automatically as soon as it boots up...
The funny thing is that I wasn't playing anything, it was merely my personal cd list...It wasn't any kind of music files, and I wasn't playing any music files at the time either...It was the only program running aside from being online I guess...I tried it again this morning to be sure, and nothing happened this time...Funky computers...See thats why I leave all of the hi-tech technical jargon to people like Draxijn...I don't understand any of it...
I hope it is just as you said though, just some kind of error in my comp...But even if it is, what a freakin wierd coincidence that it happened just a short while after we finished wrapping up another thread on the topic, "and" while I was doing something with my music list...
Thanks for the tips on what it could have been though Draxijn, I can rest a bit easier now :)
