NoirTech
July 26th, 2002, 12:07 PM
Hello all you EGN peeps.
Well, it's Friday and time for another short mix to be posted. This is Mix5 brought to you by DJv2, or in other words...me. :) Remember, these mixes are only available for one week. Download it while you can. It will be replaced with a brand new mix next Friday. The mix lasts only 30:04mins and the file size is 27.5MB.

This weeks mix can be downloaded by going to the following link:

www.yolysmusicshop.com/erick/mix5.mp3

Here is the track listing for this week's mix, hope you all enjoy it:

1. Erasure - Angel (twelfth's dimanda-free edit)
2. Anything Box - World Without Love
3. Faith Assembly - Red Ambition (Ambitious Club Mix)
4. Book of Love - I Touch Roses (Twelfth's Dark Rose Mix edit)
5. Robert Miles - Children (Dream Version)
6. Alphaville - Forever Young (Ewigkeit Remix)
7. Xero-G - Honesty (Breakbeat Dance Mix)

Sorry I didn't get a chance to put in the info on where I got each song/remix, but time was running out. I almost did not make a new mix due to the crazy hours I've been putting in at work.

Once again, any comments on it, or a request, ...or anything,...either post in this thread or email me at: noirtec@aol.com

Thanks
Erick (aka NoirTech ... aka DJv2)

Wihooooooooooo!!
Just look at track 6, doesnīt it seem just..perfect? Oh yeah it is.
I love this mix, I like Robert miles, so mixing him together with my dear Alphaville was a very good chooise.
This mix is the best so far, and it isnīt ONLY because of AV...almost...:D

The remix of Forever Young featured in this mix is one of my absolute faves, love it so much. Enjoy!

Thank you!

Got it! And the new server you put it on is much faster than the old one!

Thanks!

Is it? You know...I thought it was going faster. It's still on the same one, so I'm thinking they finally did some upgrading. I'm digging the speed. Hope it lasts.

Erick, you're just a mixing machine. Make a full length mixed CD already and hand it out.

Hey Brian...yeah...i've been getting this request from a few people. I will repost some of them in the near future. Might actually take a week or two off of making new mixes and repost the older ones, so keep an eye out for that. It will happen on this area of EGN. I'll probably make a new thread for that.

Checks directory...
mix1.mp3 mix2.mp3 mix3.mp3 mix4.mp3 mix5.mp3

*grins evily*

To bad you don't have space to host them all but they are all cool. :)

You should consolidate Playlists for all your mixes somewhere.

Thanks for getting the ABox in there.

Hey Avil,

the last AV remix album is good? I want to buy it but is too spensive and I'm afraid to be another crap remixes like done with my loved InSoc.

Who made the remixes? The AV itself or who?

thanks,

Freddy

Hey Steve...
Seems like you have the complete mixes. :-)
I'm looking into getting a new FTP server for some of these mixes. I'm kinda borrowing space on one for the meantime, which is where I'm currently hostimg them from.

I do have the playlists in email format, so I think I'll upload it as an html document as well, with the next mix. That way everyone can look at what they missed. heh

No problem about the ABox track. Decided on that one when I found how well it fit with the Erasure song. :-)...well...sorta.

You did get the 4th one though...right?
I'm glad you liked the new mix...but considering it had Alphaville in it, there was no way you wouldn't. hehehehe

I am one of those lucky ones who have all the mixes. :)

After posting about the track listing I got ambitious and crawled through the archives and found all the playlists. So now I know what I am listening to.

Yeah! Maybe I can take a break and you can take over for a week? :-) We'll call it something else besides my naming structure Mix#.mp3, Mix#.mp3 etc etc.
We'll talk more about it off thread k?
Anyone else interested? Think it could be a cool idea.

Sometimes. It depends. I'm testing out different software. I've done it different ways. From mixing it live into a Roland VSR-880 and then recording the output of the VSR-880 into Soundforge and then mp3ing it with Music Match. Other times when I have bits and pieces I've used ACID. I did that once though. Haven't really messed with ACID that much. Have others? I'll have to check that out again. I only have the first version of ACID I belive.
Mostly use the Pioneer CDJ-100s as DJ Introvert suggested I get. These are nice. Now I have my eyes on the new ones...CDJ-1000s. Those are SWEET! Anyone here using those? Opinions?

Wooo! Finished the new mix last night...but you all have to wait till Friday to hear it. BWAHAHAHAHA
Anyways...I was thinking of doing something slightly different for this upcoming mix. Thinking of not posting a track listing (GASP!) and instead have you all guess at it.
The one who guesses the complete set list, will get some sort of prize. Haven't decided what that prize will be yet. Probably a few CDs I have around here, maybe a t-shirt,...or copies of all 6 mixes on CD. What do you all think? Should I do this...or should I just post the damn mix like I've been doing? heh :-D
opinions?

I too like the idea, sounds like fun. Even though I've already been excluded from the contest *lol* Can't wait for the next mix, it's going to be sweet.

Hi NoirTech,

I just checked all of your remixes. Very cool mixes indeed. Now I’m becoming addicted to it. I was wondering if there's a way that you can burn those on CDs for me? I would be more than willing to pay for some costs of imbursements. Please….please….please. Thank you.

No no no. I won't charge for ANY of these mixes. I do it for the love of the scene. :-)
As for burning them for you...well...that's part of the contest I'm thinking about doing. The winner gets all 6 on the mixes burned unto a disks....maybe even with a cool cover. I don't know. Starting to seem like a lot of work from my end. hahahaha

Then again, I can make simple burns for some of you and give something else as a prize. ...but then I have to find what that "something else" might be.

We'll see. Lots to think about here. :)

Ok...so now i'm thinking hard about this contest idea I just threw in here. See..I think it will work for Mix6 since there are some top acts in it, but for other mixes....it would be really really hard since I add lesser known bands. Wonder if people would get fustrated. Thinking...I'll post the Mix Friday..with contest rules, then come Monday....post the track listing. That way people will have all weekend to download and listen. The first one who emails (yes email..we don't want to clutter up the thread..do we?) me the correct track listing...wins. How does that sound?
Man..I have a feeling I'm gonna regret this. hahahaha
oh yeah..and Seraphim can't play. :D

I say the contest should be that we have to guess your tracks before you know what they are. How's that? Gives me a fighting chance.

HAHAHAHAHA...
right.
Ok...so we have two camps here. One that is all for the contest and one that thinks it might be too difficult to win. Well...it's Thursday afternoon..and in less then 24hours the new mix is gonna go up. No time to get all the details ready...so I think I'm gonna leave the contest for another time.

As for getting CDRs to you FxBoy, we'll have to see about that. I'm actually thinking of reposting some of the older mixes in the near future. You should be able to make your own CDRs if you have access to a burner, but if not..then we'll talk later about that. ;)
