So I got an email from Echo Image about the new single coming out soon, and was kinda surprised by the single's cover art. If THAT is what they will be using. Here is the text of the email:
It's finally here, Echo Image's long awaited single "Endless Day".
It will be released July 15th in Germany and later in the summer in the other territories.
Except from the "Endless Day", the band presents a great b-side and a groovey remix of the title track.
The single is produced by Stephan Groth/Apoptygma Berzerk and is the band's first release on Hard:Drive.
Order the perfect summer hit from HARD:DRIVE now!!
....and below is the pic that was included with the email. Is that Trine Bilet?! Cover seems kinda...i don't know..not your typical Synthpop cover.

No kidding Craig! I'm still tripping out. Was looking for you on AIM to send it to you. heheh. Well...i just checked the label's website, and that is the cover they show to be released. Echo Image ... i guess they aren't as innocent as I thought they were. :D
Now, put on their cover of "Neverending Story" and stare at that pic for a few minutes.

Melotron has quite a sexy cover for their new single 'Gib Mir Alles'. Guess they're trying to find other ways to sell their music. Trine does look pretty good in that position. :0)

Here is the tracklisting from Hard:Drive's site:
1. Endless Day [Club Version]
2. Good Things [Don't Come Free]
3. Endless Day [Original Version]
I kind wish they would have a few more tracks on this single. Oh well I will probably buy one once the single shows are here in the states. I am not going to pay $10 shipping from Hard:Drive's site. :)

I'll buy it just for the cover alone.
::ducks as Michelle throws something in Erick's direction for posting that::
heh.
Funny thing is, when I first opened the email, I almost deleted it cause I thought it was porn spam.
You are right though. $10 for shipping is a lot. I'll see how much Todd will carry it for before ordering it from that site.

Erick, you could always buy it from Music Non-Stop. They have great prices, relatively low shipping and they're quick. I ordered my De/Vision 95&96 Live from them and got it in a little over a week. I know I'll be ordering more from them.

Cool. Thanks for the tip man. Will have to look into that as soon as the single comes out.
On another note, seems like there are a lot of us guys here on EGN who really dig Trine. heh. Interesting IM's and emails I've gotten about this little thread.

As for Trine. Don't know who she is, so I can't say if I know what all the who-ha is about.

She is the female keyboardist and backup vocalist for Echo Image.

Oh, ok. She's cute, I'll give you that. A bit too much on the Indie looking side for me personally. Not to my taste but cute.
Has anyone heard any of the newer material? I hope I like the next album so I can be ga-ga over the band as well. I so hate feeling left out. Err, yeah.

Well, when the music can´t sell good enough, they gotta have something that make people interested, in this case putting one of the band members in a xxx position, and hope for the best.

LOL, you're just mad they didn't put one of the male bandmembers on the cover in that position. :p
Yup, I'll definitely be picking the single up for the cover....er I mean the music. Trine definitely looks cute in all of their pics... ;)

Apop is corrupting the kids of Echo Image. :(
seraphim
July 9th, 2002, 12:31 PM
The cover isn't that tasteless. She's completely clothed and is only it's only sexually suggestive. I think that the only place that people would make a fuss about it is in the US. We're all so uptight about sexuality. I've seen far worse on CD covers.
Apop, corrupting the kids of Echo Image, I doubt it. I bet they're just as corrupt as the next person. *lol*
NoirTech
July 9th, 2002, 12:38 PM
As corrupt as YOU. heh. I don't think anyone is saying that we are UPTIGHT about that cover. That is not what I started this thread about. My intention was to bring attention to Trine on the cover. heh. I wasn't like...OMG...take it out take it out!
wait....
that didn't sound right either...
ok...i've had too much coffee...I'm not making sense anymore. heh

July 9th, 2002, 12:43 PM
Naw. Wasn't sawing it was you in specific, just a generalization Bla bla bla. And are you insinuating that I'm corrupt, good Sir?
Hmm. Maybe if you put her in a nice PVC corset...
~raven0us-
July 9th, 2002, 01:11 PM
well... i wasnt suggesting that it is tasteless because of the chick, but more like whats it got to do with the music? i duno, it just doesnt do it for me. heh. it has nothing to do with the quality of the music, its just not something id find appealing for a synthpop album cover. maybe something more mainstream and tasteless.

Like a Rap album? hehehe. That is what Michelle and I were saying last night. Like on a 2 Live Crew CD or something.

Thanks for the link. That song sounds so cool. I can't wait to get it in CD quality. It sounds just as good as the sample off of the website made me think it was. I am really looking forward to their newest album.

So, tell me is Andy on the cover of that single? If he is, then I am getting it! He's HOT!! :D

Nope. No pic of Andy. It's a pic of a girl from her waste down on her knees wearing only panties and high-heel shoes. You should still get it though. Melotron did play 'Gib Mir Alles' in Toronto, and as you know Melotron is awesome. So is Echo Image.

I really can't wait to hear their new material soon.

I find it ironic how a certain phrase in 'Like a Child' reminds me so much of a line in DM's 'Black Celebration'.
In 'Like a Child', the line is: "Your optimistic, glaring (?) eyes seem like paradise."
In 'Black Celebration', the line is: "Your optimistic eyes seem like paradise to someone like me."
Yes, it could be purely coincidence, but maybe it isn't. I see nothing wrong with it. I think it's cool. I know people get angry when people compare DM to so many synthpop bands, but we have to show some example of modern synthop to people who may not be familiar with modern synthpop. I don't think Echo Image sounds anything like DM, but I do think "Messing with Love" sounds like an Erasure song. So, there is a DM connection underneath the surface. hehe

You are right about those lyrics. I too wonder if it was intentional or accidental. Hey, if they were borrowing from Martin, that's allright by me. :)

I am sure it is probably already listed, but when is the US release date for this single. I hope not too far off.

As far as I know there isn't a US distributor for the single, hence no US release date. Most places should have imported the single soon I would think. As it is avalible overseas right now.

If you think THAT line remind you of DM... what about the line:
"I'm fading away just like another black day
I'm lying, waiting for the night"?
I think this song clearly has a lot of nods to the Mode.

Ah, that's a very good example of Mode influenced lyrics! What Echo Image song did you quote? I've listened to 'Compuphonic' about three or four times and haven't listened to it in quite a while, and I missed that DM connection.
Who says modern synthpop bands aren't influenced by D Mode? hehe
