I have a home recording studio. Is there something cheaper I could use until I can afford to install Auralex?

Well, there are other materials that can be used to diffuse sound reflections, etc.

You can use things like carpet on the bare surfaces, also putting things like furniture in room corners can help you control the low end boom that most household rooms suffer from.

Cheaper yes, but there is no better solution than using Auralex.

sE Electronics Reflexion Filter $300

"Record vocals, guitars, and more with a 'drier' sound without an acoustically treated room. The Reflexion Filter is a portable device for recording live sound sources with reduced room ambience."

Additionally, if you have an odd shaped room in the house where there are ideally no parallel walls this would serve as the better option to put a studio in.
