Why do all my guitar tracks peak out so easily when using the MBox and Protools?

Is it common with the lower interfaces (mbox vs Digi 001/002) or do I need or more powerful computer to handle the load? Other Ideas?

by peaking i take it you mean that the levels peak on input ? if you do, then you need to turn down the level of your preamp and / or the level of your guitar amp - try putting a 10db pad on the input (if the input has it, sometimes the mic will have it too)
