I don't remember how I originally found out about them, but I loved their first album "meanwhile", then I lost it so I had to buy it again...
anyone have any opinions on how their subsequent albums sounded? would have been hard to match "meanwhile" so I'm hoping they didn't lose their edge.

I like their second album "Continuous" alot better then MEANWHILE. It has more standout tracks imo, production is more refined as well....

Continuous blows Meanwhile away easily!!! Meanwhile begins to drag on at times, almost echoing a Rick Astley tune...I'm a huge fan of their work though both albums are really good...I can't believe Baxter went into the Scooter realm though...To go from the extreme of synthpop to hardcore techno is a bit wierd...I don't really dig Scooter very much, I just can't get into Baxter going from harmonies to being an M.C....(scary)...
However though amaxophobic, Meanwhile and Conitnuous are their only two albums...Sadly, they didn't do anything else together...

I guess I have to take the opposite opinion to those who have already posted. I prefer the material of Scooter over anything Celebrate the Nun did or still does.

I have only heard "Will You Be There", and thought it was quite well done. It sounds like a talented band.

Yeah, both albums are great but Continuous are really fantastic, a classic synthpop album that changed forever the synthpop form of doing music, after that almost bands followed his style.
Is one of my top albums ever made.

There's a question of taste.
I had all albums (Scooter/CTN) and Scooter had some very great songs, and other almost unaudible, almost made to dance/techno clubs, made only for dance, not to listen.
So they done right on that, CTN is good to listen, and not to dance, where Scooter is good to dance, and almost tracks not to listen, and was what they want to do. So they do 100% right.
Two of the main CTN members founded Scooter, and the truth are still the same band, with another "guest" in the place of Brit, and doing now dance music.
The cover of "Eyes Without A Face" is really fantastic. Is a Scooter song in a CTN's style.
my fave scooter album is "No time to chill", I want to get the new DVD, was sad that one of my fave songs was cut off for a manufactory error. : (

Oh definitely, Freddy. It's a question of taste. I did not mean to imply that one band is better than the other talent wise. It's just that I have heard pretty much all the Scooter material and the two (three if you count the new Celebrate the None material) Celebrate the Nun albums and for my taste, I lean towards Scooter. I think it's very enjoyable. I listen to it a lot in the car, great driving music. Granted, Scooter isn't a band I could relax to.

Sure, must be great listen scooter when driven, but if I done that probally I'll crash! I'll want to run more and more with their music. :)
Celebrate The None already released an album? I only heard one new song.
Isn't you Seraphim from insoc newsgroup?

It wasn't a full album of Celebrate the None that I heard but rather a few songs. Their management sent Jenz and I a promo back when we were doing SynthCon. It was good, I think the fans of Celebrate the Nun would like it, it just wasn't "my thing".
Yup, that's me. The same seraphim from the InSoc newsgroup, though I haven't posted there in ages.

SSShhh. Don't tell people that you've met me. That's the quickest way to tarnish your reputation and get people to stop talking to you. And of course we talked about InSoc, they are only the worlds greatest synth band, right? Of course they are. As for Celebrate the None, well, I do know that they have finished recording a new single called "Arther Have You Eaten All Your Ginger-Biscuits", which is set for release this summer sometime. A full album will follow that in the Fall. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been released as of yet.
Unfortunately I wont be at the Faith Assembly show on Saturday, I'm sure I'll be dead tired after the club on Friday (i'm driving down to Long Beach). They're playing at Bar Sinister, right? I honestly dislike that club, the last time I was there, the people we all too pretentious and there were people dancing on top of the bars. Though I have heard they have remodeled the place and made the dance floor larger. Although the bands still perform on an out-door stage.

Thanks for the down low on Celebrate The None, I'll be looking for the new material to surface later in the year then:)
As for Bar Sinister, I've never been there myself, and you think I would considering I've been across the way at the Blue a billion times over the years...I hope the crowd is fun though, I hate it when you go to a club only to find that everyone has a stick up their butt, and no one has a good time...

I believe it's the same song, just not in a remixed form. There might be one or two other songs on the CD but I am unsure. I haven't listened to it but those few times when I first got it, I think it's in a drawer somewhere with a bunch of other SynthCon submissions. I'll have a look for it.
