Is there anyone here?

Seriously, I just moved here from LA and I feel lost and alone, I have heard many claims that they seattle clubs play a lot of synthpop and such so are any of the people on this forum here in Seattle?

Help me, I am lost and really homesick for someone to shop for music with!

AHH Man, You don't know how lucky you are right now!!!! I wish I was there to show you around!!! I've been to Seattle a few times and absolutely love it!!!! If I didn't have current responsibilities here in Texas, I would be there!! As for your music shopping, have you tried the university area?? I'm thinking Pike st., Summit ave., all around there?? You can't miss those record shops, they just go on and on!!!! I remember an Urban Outfitters store on a corner...go to that street if you can find it and just walk around, you're bound to run into music galore!! Oh, not the Urban Outfitters down-town. I just remembered they have 2 there. Anyway, I hope this helps a little bit....try to be happy there, you'll start meeting people soon if you just hang in there and give it a shot. Bye (wishing I was there) Dot. :)

Yeah I live in Seattle for about 7 years Jenz ... moved from LA at the time as well. As far as Seattle clubs playing ALOT of synthpop ... well they didn't a year and a half ago ... but things change I suppose. There is a fairly large Goth underground however.

Poly Esthers is decent but is more geared to the 80s crowd ... their 80s room is called Culture Club.

On occasion a headliner will surprise you at the Show Box.

The Fenix Underground in Pioneer Square has it's moments. It is or was co-owned by John Corbett of Northern Exposure and Sex and the City fame.

The Cat Walk club is pretty cool ... a good bet.

Of course wandering around Pioneer Square and paying the somehwhat large cover that included several clubs is a good bet ... so you can wander in and out and find out what the score is at many of the clubs down there.

Good luck on your hunt Jenz ...and hope to see you down here in LA again at some point!

I know Seattle pretty well. Traveled there on a weekend basis for almost 2 years (long distance relationships suck). Clubs that may interest you: The Catwalk and the Vogue (this one I think is next to musicwerks close to broadway in capitol hill), especially on thursday nights its a lot of fun they used to have live acts and the music was awesome. I m sure you can fond more info on the Stranger or the Seattle Weekly
