I like it just the way it is. I also like Martin doing some of the songs that Dave did on the album when they toured.

Dave IS Depeche Mode's live show! Some artists are great performers, others well... are not. Dave is an awesome performer where as Mart is much less energetic on stage.
Depeche Mode without Dave? Hell no!

Dave owns the front man spot...As for myself, Mart is my favorite member of the band overall (always has been next to Alan), but I think it's better he only steals the spotlight at certain points in the albums and shows...It's really special when you see Dave doing songs on stage for a while, and then all of a sudden a hush would fall over the crowd, and then everything erupts as Mart comes from behind his keyboard to take the reigns for a while...

I also like it just the way it is. Some songs are more suited to Dave's voice. I however an a BIG time Mart lover and would like to see him do more singing. I can't wait for Mart's solo effort which hopefully he's working on soon. Maybe he will tour too, probably not, but a girl can dream......

I love Martin, but I think Dave is the best front man. Martin is the special suprise in the concert where as Dave is the energy. Martin gives different life to songs than Dave. For example, compare Martin singing Sister of Night to Dave. It puts the song into a totally different mood.

Ditto, on when Martin began to do Condemnation near the end of the Devotional tour...When it was done by him acoustically, it changed the entire feelinf of the song...In a good way of course :)

Mart? Dave?
No..and no. I'm waiting for Fletcher to take the spotlight! That's some untapped talent right there. I think he should be the front man on the next album. Doing all the vocals..including the backing ones. Martin and Dave can just stand behind him clapping.
......obviously..this is not serious. :-P

I think Dave is a great front man. DM without Dave is simply not Depeche Mode. I do love Martin though. If anyone, he is certainly an idol of mine. And, in my most humble opinion, feel that Martin actually has better vox than Dave. Tone and range taken into consideration. But like I said, DM is nothing without Dave and I wouldn't change it for anyhting.

Actually, I've been known to rewrite Brand New Idol lyrics when we're rehearsing for our live shows. I tend to have a very raunchy sense of humor.

I wonder what the info-mercial would look like??? Now theres something to ponder...
It could go something like this:
"Hi I'm Andrew Fletcher from Depeche Mode, and if you love clapping as much as I do, you've got to get you're clapping hands on my new collection of DM classics set to one hell of a clapping good beat"!!!
Thats all I have for now, I'm at work, but someone should continue this, it could get really funny...See what you started Frank!!!

Since I've seen One Night In Paris I started to like Martin even more then before. He's totally great and has wonderfull voice and his music is also great, but Dave was a frontman always and he really knows how to make an atmosphere on concert. Dave is the best frontman ever!

My opinion in this question, is that DM wouldn´t feel the same if not both Dave and Martin were members. Together they make some kinda balance. Martin will always be the front man in this band, but he wouldn´t succeed without Martin just behind him.
They are perfect together.

I agree, I wouldn't change a thing. Martin and Dave they are DM. What do you think?..DM really stand for? Dave can be frontman and Martin he do everything else. But for Martin's lover point of view...i rather see and drool over Martin more.;)
beside...Martin said interview that "he wouldn't be frontmen", he would rather be writing the those genius song of faith and devotion and doing Music for Masses to get EXCITED to. I couldn't want him to be frontman either, look what happen to Dave?..:p
yeh....and i want hear more of song that martin wrote..that dave sing...He will sing in next album.:D
