This week's column is the final weekly column I'll be writing for synthpop.net. That's right, no more of these annoying self-hyping posts! Man do I feel crappy when I'm posting to promote something of mine. I feel sleezy. But ya gotta do it, 'cause if ya don't, no one knows it's there, right?
Anyway, if you wanna read the 20th and final column, go to http://www.synthpop.net and check it out.
IN OTHER NEWS...
The "Synthetic Broadway" compilation is now available. It features bands (like Red Flag, New Clear Sky, Spray, Cosmicity, Color Theory, Empire State Human and many more) covering songs from musicals (like Little Shop of Horrors, The Sound of Music and Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, just to name a few). YEAH! It's way different. This is not your average synthpop compilation.
Here's a link to the info on the ADD website: http://www.adifferentdrum.com/broadway.html
Synth on, everyone.

Fascinating look into the future, Mark. You really play a key role. I am looking forward to the book. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed all your articles Mark. I can't wait to read your children's book. Wasn't that what you were writing? Probably just a vicious rumor, I don't remember...I think I'll listen to my synthpop songs on my mp3 player DUH!

He he... yeah, it was a very silly final column. I admit it.
Now, I've got to get back to my childrens book. Let me see...
Once upon a time, there were a bunch of really cool bands making really cool synthesized pop music. One day, a big bad NYC art-house circuit decided to name some of the bands playing this type of music Electroclash bands. This made certain bands attached to this circuit very popular very quickly, much like internet start-up companies in the late 90's. It also left many bands, some more talented than the now-famous bands, in the dust.
But kids, that's life. If you're in the right place at the right time, things will be great. If not, well, the ol' cliche is always here for you: it's not about having what you love, it's about loving what you have.

Great column Mark. I would find it extremely hard to come up with that long of a story and actually have it make a weird sort of sense.
Loved them all,

The columns are the main body of the book. Many/Most of the columns will be chapters in the book, if slightly altered to fit the format.
So, that'll be it. 1 book. All-inclusive. Old and new material. Out late this year. Funny? Here's hoping!

Well, I talked briefly with Todd from A Different Drum about it... originally we were thinking he might co-author the book. But at this point, I don't think he will. Maybe on a second book if this one goes well. This first one will likely be written entirely by me. :-)
