I heard that Desvio never showed up or bothered to call or even e-mail that they were not going to show? That's what I read anyway! As for Recouse, I read that they suffered some sort of hard drive failure and couldn't get the system booted back up and the music sequenced in time for the show! Unfortunate!

Yeah! Where WAS Desvio?! I was really looking forward to seeing them. Anyone know? This has been bugging me since I just recently got their CD...which is great by the way.

Well, what Tal`Liyne said is true. Desvio (from what I heard) didn't bother to show up and they didn't bother to even get in touch with the promoter of the event to cancel. If this is true, then I find that highly unacceptable and will do everything I can to never support a band that has such disregard for their obligations and their fans. As for Re:Course, they felt really bad that they couldn't come but yes, they did suffer a HD failure. They tried up until the last possible minute to figure an alternative out but was unable to do so. I was so looking forward to seeing them perform to. The album I have by them so rocks. Keep an eye out for it when it's released.

Just to follow up on Re:Course, this is pulled directly from their official page:

"- I am sorry to inform everyone that re:course had to pull out of Synthcon at the last minute due to technical obstacles that we could not overcome. Basically we lost integral parts of the backing music when we transfered the files from the Fractured Studio to Silicon Fields Studio. So due to the fact that i had incorporated some VST (grrr! i hate softsynths) instrumentation in select songs that crashed, i must now reconstruct the songs before i can continue the production of "Distance". I whole heartedly apologize to Andi (Synthcon), Chris, and Jenz for this failure on my part :( i will be sending you all my official demo soon with promopack as consolation. If there is anything else i can do, please let me know. Also i feel i must apologize to the fans that were looking forward to seeing re: for the first time. I feel terrible about what happened and it has only increased my anger at the fragilty of computers and music. Therefor i am going to rethink my strategy on songwriting and do as much on real synths and equipment as i can. Back to the roots, so to say. The next news update will be about new material. Back to werk, take care..."

Much props go to Michael for being so upstanding and rocking a person.
