Greetings everyone, just curious as to what you all consider to be the best :)

For me personally I'm going with the original...Forever Young is an absolute masterpiece...This is the AV I got started with, after seeing the rawness of the Big In Japan video, I was sold

I agree with 7red7, donīt complain!!

My fave is Salvation, their latest album. Itīs a back-to-the-roots album and itīs absolutely fantastic. Flame is my favesong ever, and itīs on this album. Love it.

Thanks for the support Avil :D I also love Salvation...It's so hard to choose, Slavation is an awesome comeback to the old school sound...However my current favorite song is Wishful Thinking from the Stark Naked Live album :)

Man am I sorry for that last post being a bit snappy...I wish you would have continued your train of thought on your first reply, I completely mis-read what you meant, and I'm sorry if I replied in a harsh manner :)

So throw out a favorite...Theres bound to be at least one you favor :)

I actually sat thru my wesern civ class for quite a while pondering my top 5. (Similar to the theme in "High Fidelity") And in the end... I couldnt come up with a solid list but more like twenty albums that could make the top five on any given day.

So Im just gonna give a quick shout out to.. NCC - Seven Steps of Nervousness. Not necessarily my all time fav or anything... but definately one that has kept my attention and constantly impressed me with every listen since the day I got it.

This is something that has chenged for me over time...

For a long while Forever Young was my favorite, but then I really began to appreciate Afternoons In Utopia even more.

Today though, I'm torn between Salvantion and Stark Naked.
I am a big fan of Apollo live...

I agree, Stark Naked was great comeback for me personally...It's the first AV cd I'd gotten since The Breathtaking Blue...:)

I've listened to Salvation more times than any other AV album. Thats my choice. MANY great songs: Wishful Thinking, Flame, Soul Messiah, Inside Out, Pandora's Lullaby, etc.

Cannot wait for new material..........

Alphavile is one of somes 80's bands that are better now then on the 80's in my opinion.

His albums Prostitute and Salvation are really great!

I think Compuphonic is an excellent album too, Bornslippy... do Echo Image have any other albums, btw?

And I think this thread was meant more as "What's you favorite Alphaville album?" :)

I donīt know what to say.
Iīve read so many different opinions about AV here, happy to see that most of them are positive.

As you all already might know Iīm a HUGE fan of AV.
All their albums are so special, I wouldnīt pic a fave, but Iīve already done that, although I must say that Afternoons in Utopia is a great great album aswell. But Salvation rocks.
I think you have to hear all their albums to be able to get a true opinion about them and their way to create music during the years. FY and Salvation are too alike to be compared, Salvation is just a back-to-the-roots album and a great one! :)

Hey Avil, you'd be the perfect person to ask this question...Do AV have any other videos made other than Big In Japan??? I know it's a dumb question and I'm sure they do, but what are they??? :)

They have many videos aside Big In Japan.

You can buy Songlines in VHS at www.musicexpress.com with all videos of the second album, really all tracks have a video.

They have also two version of Forever Young video, one is a remix.

And "Fools" also had a video, and a 3 versions of Big in Japan.

I have these ones and some others, but probally they have more.

I found my Forever Young video on an 80's video VCD compilation on eBay. =P

There is also something called "Songlines" which I don't have yet because I'm broke.. but it's actually up on eBay right now

eBay is evil..

Videos have been made for:

Big in Japan
Sounds like a melody (so funny)
Forever Young (very beautiful one, love the diamond)
Jet Set (happy video)
Red Rose
Dance with me (my absolute fave!!!)
Universal Daddy
Sensations
Fools
Soul Messiah

Plus all songs from The breathtaking blue.
but remember!!!! The videos for these songs arenīt regular videos, they are shortfilms made by different directors, and has nothing to do with AV except the music in the video. The members take no part in these videos.
