FINALLY, someone replies to this...I thought everyone would get a kick out discussing their look...I really dig the wings too...Honestly, they look a lot more refined now, I enjoy their current appearance...Did you know Mark even has a seperate carrying case for the wings??? Seriously, they are like an instrument or something *LOL* Now thats dedication to your look on stage :)

I like them how they are now, I liked Mark's leather pants when I saw them at the Troubador. I like the wings too.

I know... Im prolly gonna take a lot of flak for this but... Im gonna speak my mind on this one.

I saw Red Flag open for Mesh about a year ago in Chicago at The Drink... and I must say that their stage presence / appearance had to be some of the worst I've ever seen. I dont remember much besides the wings but I do have the word "flaming" forever connected with "Red Flag."

How was their "old appearance" different from the new one?

Lighthouse/Caveat Emptor would be my preference.

i think their look really fits to the music. whil beein close to psb in former times, that look was best. now, in a gothic musical era the new look is really underlinin the music. like it, but it also provokes loads a jokes. only vince clark had such wild ideas in dressing, WINGS? cool thing. i like people beein far from the ordinary...

long live the queen!

I just bought the Fear Series Box set, and I saw the picture of Chris. I love his new apperance compared to the cover Cavet Emptor. He's more muscular now and he dresses cool. I like his skull belt buckle in the Fear Box set. I love that pic!

Whats wrong with him in the Caveat Emptor cover? Looked fine to me, so now they wear all black and it's cooler? :dunno:

Also on the caveat cover, Chris is holding the mic and Mark is playing the keyboard hence, buyer beware...

On the Cavet cover, Chris seemed a bit overweight. I dunno, maybe it is the angle. Didn't mean to upset.

You can check out their video for Russian Radion at http://launch.yahoo.com/ to see their look from '89, pretty much look the same as the Naive Art sleeve - black jeans/black shirt.

You can also see other cool videos on that site by Cause & Effect, Book of Love, DM, PSB, New Order, and I was surprised to see And One "Sometimes" video is also on there.

Is it true that they surf?

Yeah they're big surfers...Both Mark and Chris told me they were when I asked them about it a couple years ago at a show...I'm sure they get some really great waves down in San Diego...:)

I hardly care about how they appear. They make great music and that's good enough for me. They can wear wings all day long. If they still make a good product, I'll buy it.

All I want to say about their appearance in Toronto is this; Red Flag have got to be the most respectful acts at SPGTW, they were very friendly, respectful, and funny (not sure how others may feel, but that's all I experienced). I chatted with them throughout the entire weekend and I woke up today, a little star-gazed (to my surprise) and tired. I couldn't believe I actually met them. I've been a fan of Red Flag since 1989 and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to experience them at SPGTW. Keeping my fingers crossed that they return to Toronto sometime soon. Take care.

My sentiments exactly!! It was great to see them live again, as usual, they were Fantastic!! I also got to say hi to them and as always, they were very nice and took the time to speak with everyone. I only went on Sunday, but had a great time. It was SOOOO HOT in there, the sweat was dripping off everyone. But it was great fun. All the other bands were great too.
