While it was a sad day, one that was a tragic blow to the music world when John Balance left us back in 2004 and I don't think that nothing will ever touch upon the brillance that was Coil or even recapture it; at least part of that magic lives on in a new project by Peter Christopherson. There are some new sounds from the eclectic duo of Russian avantgardist Ivan Pavlov (COH) and Swedish resident, Peter Christopherson (Coil, Throbbing Gristle). This duo called SoiSong Their first EP "Soi-Jin-No-Hi" will be available for free download from Christopherson's website from March 2008. Their sound can already be tried out on Myspace.

Interesting, I'll check this out. I do agree that we will never be able to regain that formula brought on by Coil. The music is so haunting and so fitting to the darkest of art particularly the visual arts.

I actually previewed Thresholdhouse stuff here:

I can hear the Coil staple in Christopherson's stuff. It seems to lack the really deep introspective haunting that I feel with Coil's material but it just may be a matter of familiarity. Decent and very worthwhile nonetheless. Thanks.

imo, SoiSong picks up where Coil's MTPITD vol i/ii left off. also, has a touch of Mum to it. worthy.
