I know that this isn't the first movie download scenario and is also just an option for subscribers, but for some reason this was really odd to read.

I mean, what's next in the download queue? Everything is too fucking plugged in. I am personally sick of it. What happened to going outside and looking at the night sky or what not. You know what I mean? Now we don't even need to watch movies on our TV with the cable which will soon be the "old foggie" way of "living". Everyone will be stuck cheek and lip to their computer monitor. Sick! :bomb:
All this is feeding itself. It is a self fulfilling prophecy.
Oh and sorry for the rant.

It's beneficial for people who have media computer hooked up to their home theater system. I just recently downloaded a movie to watch with the family during the weekend. We rented/downloaded "Meet the Robinsons".

I also don't see this as a bad thing. I know what you are saying and I think it is not that big of a deal. This can be advatageous to some and those that think it is not the right way to see flicks then so be it.
As far as setting some sort of presedent though it may push things in that direction but that is the general trend these days anyway so these companies are just trying to not get caught so far behind the eight ball that they go out of business.

Oh, another benefit of downloadable content, ....Hi-def movies. If you don't want to play the Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD game, but still want to watch Hi-Def content, it's definitely the way to go.

Sounds good to me.
Maybe if you can download it, then burn to a Blu-ray DVD, and then go watch in the home theater room.
Now you're talking!

i know how you feel though
sometimes it does seem like things are leaving reality and falling into the computer lol
the great thing is that the sun and the sky are still there so anytime you can just go out and enjoy it :)

It's all about choices. Having a choice is a good thing.

I agree, as long as some of the digital features that we are seeing do not drive the more traditional ones out of business. Say, digital movies proliferate to the point of making the movie theaters or DVD rentals go out business, or something like that.

I hear you CIP - sometimes I also feel like every things handed to people and you miss out on the experience. I feel like everyone should have the option though, like Erick said to do things on their own terms... I also like the convenience of downloading movies for instant gratification! Honestly if it were available i'd rather download a new movie then see it in the theater with a bunch of assholes with their talking at the screens and phone calls, etc. LOL

No kidding! I would pay $15 to $20 right now to be able to see Cloverfield at home rather then at the movie theater. As it stands now, I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD before I see that movie. Same thing with I Am Legend.

...Hi-fives Electroswank
You guys are dead on and it is all about the options.
My rant was mostly on the "general trend is society" tip which the Internet has moved along nicely for all in the "entitled" generation. Dunno, maybe I just wish I was born later or something so I could also partake me in some of dat!
PS. I would also rather not sit in a movie theater and deal with the cell phones, DS games, and anything else that can possibly make noise to ruin the picture for me...
