I certainly know of Elvira, but have not heard of this Vampira. Maybe this is why she sounded bitter in the article. I will have to look her up to see what she was all about.

Vampira was the original and Elvira came many years later with the same idea. I actually remember the lawsuit, but wrote it off as someone trying to use the publicity to refresh a long lost career. I mean, 10 million? How far and how long does a character-type last?
