I think people realized that he was already an idiot before he stuck his foot in his mouth.
He's one of those typical "shock jocks" to whom more people listen to hear what outrageous (and outrageously stupid) thing he's going to say next, more than because they actually like to hear what he has to say.

He's been around for a long time and probably had the connections and the fan base to recover. Certainly not everyone would have been able to try and do that. Time will tell how his new incarnation will work out. He had added a co-host to keep himself in check I am guessing or just as a stunt who know, and I am sure will be more careful with what comes out of his mouth this go around.

What? Imus is a babbling moron.
Any time I hear his voice "broadcasting" it makes me wonder how anyone can listen to that for any longer then a minute or so.
And please do not compare him to Howard Stern, geeeesh.
