This review is somewhat recycled... heheh Anyways, I had such a great time yesterday! The Abox/endora show at House of Blues/Chicago show started around 1145 with my band (Endora), we had a small set... maybe like 30-45 minutes. I'll be the first to admit I was kinda nervous since we didnt get a chance to sound check!

The House of Blues is such an awesome venue! Thanks to everyone who came out to see us! After we were done with out set, Abox came out and played a strong set. There performed a combination of all their previous albums (except for maybe worth).

Some highlights included an impromptu cover of New Order's "Temptation." It was so spontaneous, that Claude even mentioned after the show to me that the rest of the band didnt know he was going to perform it!

So Dave's the new guy, very cool person and multiti-talented! Bass player/keyboardist/photographer! :)
From what I remember, other songs included: Clean, Welcome to the End, Answer Me, LIO, Carmen, Mine, Nirvana cover of Molly's lips, 45/54, and more.... I thought Abox was very good live, and had the crowd going as usual. Claude is a pro at engaging the crowd. From what I saw, Dave was a crowd favorite! Alot of ppl showed up for this show!

So Anything Box is no longer synthpop, it should have been obvious after Elektrodelica. But I know alot of you old skool fans thought it was just a stage. :) But I really like their new sound.... a fusion of many pop elements. I really think Abox can be mainstream again if they get that "one break." Some of their new songs have such a pop appeal. I can see "Clean" for example being embraced by some alternative rock station. Bravo Anything Box! What a great place to release "The Universe is Expanding."
