Hey Tina,

Sorry that this forum is less than visited often. Once word gets out that it's here I'm sure that it will pick up. The best thing that you can do is spread the word that we're here. Electrogarden isn't even officially launched yet, so that may be part of it.

Thanks for your Patience,

So my next question is:

Does anyone think that we should close down "EBM" and leave discussions to be posted in "Industrial"?

Does anyone really care?

don't shut down the EBM-section!!!

there's a big difference between industrial and EBM or between SONAR and POUPPÉE FABRIKK? isn't it?

you can not put all the EBM-stuff within the industrial-section!!!
i'd agree, if you'd build up an industrial/EBM-section, but hurry up!
in my opinion, there are big differences! i've much respect for the industrial-music and -scene, but i don't like that noise. i like pumping power EBM like POUPPÉE FABRIKK or IONIC VISION.

i plead for two traditional sections or for one EBM/industrial section...

I think that EBM and Industrial should remain in the same forum, even though they are different genres, they do pretty much involve the same scene. I beleive that numerous people listen to both and or more, so it would be eaiser.

Hello Cats and Kittens;
This is a touchy subject. Of course the elitist definition of "industrial" is noi5e, powerNoise, and typewriters thrown down concrete stairs. While others (myself included) Think it's evolved past it's performance art roots and encompasses a wider variety of music... Noise, EBM, Electro, and yes, synthpop. etc. So while it's <all> industrial, Genre definitions are helpful. I'd keep the EBM thread, maybe even open more!

Yeah, to have areas that are based towards every genre would be ok, but I just hate the people that will not understand that a lot music that is on this side of the electronic spectrum has the same roots and they have to get all semantical, by cross cutting it and aguring about it, etc....if people could talk about the music and not have to hear that kind of petty arguments that are usually brought up....then I beleive people would have more fun talking about it then leaving places with wrong impressions of people they don't even know.

Maybe in the future when these forums are booming will I impliment more sub-forums for all the sub-genres of electronic music. I'm tempted to kill off a few of the exsisting forums until they are needed. Know what I mean? I mean, why not let this forum grow to the point where we can finally break it off? Otherwise, it'll be just too damn empty.

Cheerz,

Semantics aren't evil, their useful! But it would be easier perhaps if people didn't fight so hard to be exclusive. "Industrial is this not this" ... After all, even the bands have cross-pollinated incestuously all over the "scene". Like Funker_Vogt(ebm) are also Ravenous(synthpop) & Decoded_Feedback(ebm) are also Frozen_Autumn(synthpop) yadda. There's VNV remixes for harsher electro like Suicide Commando & Das Ich. And in PowerNoise Tom Shear (Assemblage_23) has remixed Converter. You could come up with hundreds of these examples if you tried. It melds all over the place. Why define everything? Why not just sit back and enjoy the chaos?
And your right, more "rooms" aren't needed, it is rather dead.
