I was just at thier website (www.statemachine.com), and it's been updated! Granted, it's a small update, but they've updated the site design! Maybe now we'll get that long awaited new album....

Damn, it has been awhile - I almost forgot about statemachine. It should be interesting to see what direction the new release will take. Hopefully, they will try to define their own sound a little more instead of trying to sound exactly like Depeche Mode (well, they did in my ears).

Personally, I've never seen a direct correlation between Statemachine and DM. They've always struck me as having their own, unique sound and style. Although, "As Elusive As Ever" is in the same vein as a circa Black Celebration track, it's far better IMO than anything DM has released in years (including the yawn inducing new album). That track pretty much sums up everything awesome about Modern Synthpop; it's a flawless, beautifully written piece of melodic ear candy. Noticeably, I'm a huge fan of the band (both incarnations) and can't wait for the new material. It looks like "Less Than Perfect" will still be the new single and "Short and Explosive" is still the album title......I've no doubt that it will be worth the tireless wait :D
