Hi,
Just thought I would throw out this bit of news-
Ninthwave Records has just signed three new bands to releases in 2001. I am very excited about all of them, and the continued success of Ganymede, whose new album "Euromantique" has just been finished up and will be out in time for Synthcon 2001! (end of May).Don't forget they will play there too!
The three new bands-
Empire State Human- Out of Ireland, these guys do a great job of mixing Erasure, the Beloved and a classic bubbly synthpop sound together. The closest band I can think of would be Blue October, as they feature some softer, quiet tunes as well. Look for an expanded version of their debut CD "Pop Robot" to be out by the end of the summer.
Raindancer- Check these guys out on MP3.com. They mix in synthpop, trance, old skool techno and come up with a fast paced but melodic type of dance music. Probably our most "non synthpop" band yet. Look for an MCD of "Sleepless" with all new mixes to be out in September 2001.
Mystic Underground- Well known already, this New York band's first EP "6" has already gotten rave reviews. You can hear their stuff on mp3.com too. Look for an EPCD of all new stuff from them by the end of the year!
Also by the end of 2001 I hope to put out "Electricity II- The Politics of Dancing" a remix collection of new bands.
