Color Theory
December 31st, 2007, 06:14 PM
RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED
The seventh Color Theory album, entitled The Thought Chapter, will be released on May 20, 2008. Thirteen songs have been written, with one more original and perhaps a cover to go. Most of the songs just need vocals and final mixing. The best eleven tracks will make the cut, with the remainder serving as b-sides or bonus tracks.
This will be the fourth time I resolved to put an album out by the end of the year. I was on target for an October release before we bought a new house, putting the album on hold for five months solid. On the plus side, my mastering business continues to grow, and I've got a fantastic new studio. All the gory details are in my studio construction blog, which you can read here:

I'm optimistic that I'll have more time to work on my music once my daughter starts preschool, most likely in February. I kept my son at home for two years, so I'd like to do the same for her.
COLOR THEORY MP3S AT AMAZON
You may have noticed that Amazon.com has started selling DRM-free mp3 downloads. Eventually all of my albums will be up, but for now, they only have Color Theory presents Depeche Mode. I've found that positive reviews are the biggest factor in Amazon sales, so I'd appreciate it if you could take a minute and review the album. Unfortunately, the reviews from the physical CD don't carry over.
NEW COMPILATION APPEARANCES
Color Theory tracks were featured on three new compilations in 2007. A stellar downtempo remix of the new Color Theory track "Zero Crossing" is featured on the Quantum Dub release The First Mix, along with nine other remixes from prominent electronic artists. Another relatively new Color Theory song, "I Stand By My Mistakes," is featured on a compilation from Electro Shock Records entitled Stromschlag Volume 2: A Friendship Collection. Finally, the Color Theory classic "April's Bonfire" is featured on Say Hello & Wave Goodbye: 3 Years of Electronic Lust, also from Electro Shock Records.
Thanks as always for your friendship and support (not to mention patience!),
Brian.
COLOR THEORY PRESENTS DEPECHE MODE
A one-man tribute to Depeche Mode, complete with two new instrumental interludes. Eleven of their most underappreciated songs reinvented, plus "Ponytail Girl", the Color Theory original that the world mistook for DM.
