I feel very privileged this year, to the point of feeling quite spoiled. Sure I got the customary articles of clothing, but they were well picked out and stuff I'll actually wear. I also was gifted by the Wife-Santa, a couple books: "The Looking Glass Wars" by Frank Beddor and "Smoke & Mirrors" by Neil Gaiman. Then, part Christmas gift and part thank-you from the band, they all chipped in and bought me a new DJ set up. From a friend of mine I received the "Swing the Heartache" album by Bauhaus and the "Trilogy" DVD by The Cure. Like I said, I feel quite spoiled.

Well I actually got some nice daily shoes to wear since I had mentioned this to people and mine looked aweful. And of course as usual I got plenty of tea. I also got a grab bag of dvds from an Amazon order and a whole bunch of cookies.

I won't go into the detail nick nacks list but I did score a real nice electric wok and an awesome spice rack set with spices I really needed. LOL, I like to cook.

I got a pack of socks. But they are the real thick kind from a catalog so it is a good deal.

I got myself a whole bunch of stuff with money my mom gave me. Sweet.

seraphim -- you'll have to report back on that Frank Beddor -- I've been interested in reading Hatter M because of the Ben Templesmith angle, but the entire series sounds interesting -- wouldn't mind knowing if it's worth reading.

Did you hear about Tin Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910812/) -- another classic deconstructed/reconstructed.

The "Looking Glass Wars" I think is very much worth the read, it's an interesting take on the whole Alice(Alyss) In Wonderland story. However, you have to go into it knowing that it's ever so loosely based around the "original" story and the characters therein. It's just cool that it's take is that Alyss (Alice) told her true accounting of Wonderland to Lewis Carroll who twisted it into the story we all know and love now. So long as you're not one of those die hard purists who get outraged when people muck with an original story, I think you'll find it enjoyable.

I knew of Tin Man, but of course everytime they aired it, I had to work. What inconsiderate bastards.

Yes, Im a crazy Alice fan. What can I say.

I'm in. Thanks.
