I've been so hoping that they'd go back and make this movie. I always heard the rumors and talks that they just might. But damn it, I don't want to wait till 2010 for its release and then 2011 for the follow-up. Gah! I want it now. Ha!

This is indeed very good news and maybe its even worth the wait. Anyone think that the hobbit is even a better story for a movie then the LOR?

That is good news!
I loved LOR and I am sure that the Hobbit will not dissapoint in the least. Excellent!

I wonder who might get to play Bilbo Baggins... :ponder:
I would guess it may be some unknown, or relatively unknown actor since I can not think of anyone off hand.

i love lor but the last one was waaaayyy too long and bilbo would not get on that damn boat with the elves for like soo long. the animation with golem is very well done though. the movie tech is getting so much better lately

Andy Serkis? Pete Jackson's secret weapon (has played Golum and Kong, only seen as himself as Lumpy the cook in King Kong, a small enough part that wouldn't confuse people [and Golum, since CGI-based, wouldn't confuse people either, I wouldn't think).
