View Full Version : buying new computer laptop of desktop

need to get a new computer
question is should i get a laptop or desktop
seems laptops are more expensive
are they as reliabale
any suggestions on one or the other beside
the obvious mobility one

i will not be needing it much to take
out of the house or anything

Tower is a better deal money-wise, but I still say a loaded laptop is better for productivity. You don't think you need be portable now, but when you have the power to work anywhere, I bet you will. That's just my 2 cents.

That is so true. I also was a desktop head and felt that laptops would overheat or break in some other way. Also, it was so much easier to open and swap parts in a desktop. Laptops are tougher on that part of things.

But today, laptops are very reliable and the ability to sit outside or anywhere and get connected WI-FI is priceless once you are there you can never go back.

Go laptop, I say!

I had some bad experiences with laptops. Just weird overheating with some HP brands which lead to unannounced shutdowns and stuff like that. My latest laptop is a dell and there have been no issues. For me the laptop is stationary most of the time so I have a plugin monitor that is a large enough screen. Also, you can then open the laptop and go dual screen which is always nice :)
