Ok, so how would this be a new forum without one of these threads, lol.

My stuff is sort of dated, so sorry for going old school on you guys.

1. A-Ha (Stay on These Roads)
2. New Order (Low-Life)
3. Violent Femmes (Permanent Record)
4. Dave Gahan (Kingdom)
5. Duran Duran (Red Carpet Massacre)

Lately, it's been a lot of Frozen Plazma (Artificial from 2006) and a couple of tracks from Erasure's latest. Today, I heard Funker Vogt's Navigator for the first time and I love it. Funker Vogt was the band that got me into the harder stuff.

I currently am listening to the new Empire State Human greatest hits release "Popularity?" and finding it damn addictive. That whistle from "Little Alfie" stays stuck in my head.

And also, a pre-release copy of the new Figaro album is in my hands as well, and it's bloody terrific.

I can't say I'm into much synth these days...You can always catch me playing some Cause & Effect, Iris (not so synth anymore, but in a really good way), and Blaqk Audio...I started playing drums again last year, and I've really taken to the sound of a live band...Lately I've been playing a lot of Sixx AM, Cold, Mana, and the latest Tears For Fears record :)

Of course Duran Duran - RCM (as some as you EGN vets know, i'm a mega durannie; followed them for most my life (literally and figuratively! LOL)

IAMX (who by the way - put on the best live show this year IMO :) We saw them like four times and were just blown away by the rocked out versions of the songs)

Shiny Toy Guns (very catchy), Young Love (IMO sleeper album of the year - fantastically fun live show too - we saw them open for Erasure)

I actually really like the new Sebastian Bach too :) and have rediscovered my love of old Metallica (i.e. Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning)

I'm a huge fan of Pandora : http://www.panorda.com
I've discovered so many bands I like and also have rediscovered songs I'm currently obsessed with like "I fall over" by Mesh!

I like lists. So I'll chime in with one as well. Here are the ten things/albums I've been listening to the most lately (in no particular order other than how they come to mind):

[1] <a href="http://www.bauhausmusik.com/">Bauhaus</a> - Swing The Heartache
[2] <a href="http://www.myspace.com/marchingdynamics">Marching Dynamics</a> - Nailsleeper
[3] <a href="http://www.jesusjones.com/">Jesus Jones</a> - Liquidizer
[4] <a href="http://www.myspace.com/xrxindustrial">X-Rx</a> - Unmöglich Erregend
[5] <a href="http://www.newmodelarmy.org">New Model Army</a> - High
[6] <a href="http://www.neubauten.org/">Einsturzende Neubauten</a> - Alles Wieder Offen
[7] <a href="http://www.devision-music.de/">De/Vision</a> - Noob
[8] <a href="http://www.cylabonline.com">Cylab</a> - Disseminate
[9] <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mumtheband">Mum</a> - Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy
[0] <a href="http://www.themyriadform.com/">The Myriad Form</a> - The Myriad Form

There you have it, a mish-mosh of a lot of different things; just like me. Ha!

Yes, I've been enjoying X-Rx for a few months now. Pretty good fun.

From what I've read, yeah, Bauhaus are supposedly in the studio making one final farewell album. However, I've also heard through various grapevines that the band hasn't been getting on so well either, so who knows. I'm hoping for that one last album but I'm still of the mind that they've been and forever will be basically "broken up". Now if only we could get a Love & Rockets reunion, THEN we'd be talking.

Or the Bubblemen!

I had the great fortune of seeing the Bubblemen open for Love & Rockets, now *that* was the shows of shows.

Daniel Ash rules.

That he does indeed. I've been a fan of everything he's been in, from Bauhaus, to Tones On Tail, to Love & Rockets to his solo works. Though as big a fan as I am, sadly, I still think the parts of the whole that made up Love & Rockets aren't as great as when they were all together.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't credit Daniel Ash entirely -- you're right, it's an ensemble effort.
