While I firmly believe that two things should never be discussed in forums or really in mixed company are Religion and Politics, I will say that I'm for whomever can get the job done and is the closest to my own beliefs (i.e. green thinking).

They strike me as two sides of the same coin.
I would like to join the "lets-have-a" party.

I thought that I was a republican for many years but as of late I can not say so with any certainty. Politics just seems over the top unnatural. There is no clarity on the issues that these "sides" seem to stand on anymore and things are way too self serving for my taste. Overall I can comment on the issues somewhat but to bind onto any one party affiliation, I am with Dusty, give me an actual party party rather than the political version of the same.

Blah. I am so not into politics. I know some may say that we should all be involved and proactive, but it just feels like blowing into the wind AFAIC.

The Republican Party seems to leave a bad taste in my mouth, mainly because in the last 20 years they seemed to have jumped into bed with a lot of religious extremists in our nation.
I guess I am just an old yellow dog hippie liberal (only without the long hair or the drug habit). But I see so much wrong with our nation right now, money being wasted, people doing without basic necessities while we pour billions of dollars into a war which need not have been started in the first place.
Again, just my opinion. We all have these. :)

I think it will be interesting to see who gets elected next. Just when you think the country wants a change we'll actually see if anything really changes or not.
