OK, time for the week's question...but, I've changed things a bit, because I know that some information of a personal nature might not want to be passed on...so, I invite the lurkers (Zoe!) to participate in answering one of the three listed below:

(1) What is your greatest vice? [racy]

or

(2) If there were a movie of your life, who would play you? [less racy]

or

(3) What are your favourite misheard lyrics? (Deadly boring)

BTW, mine are: "I'll keep my promise, milky eyes" (Duran Duran--the real lyrics: "Keep my promise, melt the ice")

"OK, go off with Wanda, I'm guilty just the same" (Duran Duran--the real lyrics: "OK, go off and wander")

Have at it!

(1) What is your greatest vice? [racy]

I don't know what you are looking for "racy" wise, since no one really needs to know "that much" about me. I don't have as many vices as I used to at one point, as I seldom drink and never smoke. Love, or rather wanting to be "in love" is my greatest vise these days.

(2) If there were a movie of your life, who would play you? [less racy]

That's a difficult one. I would want either Gary Oldman (for the darker aspects) or John Cusack to play me.

(3) What are your favourite misheard lyrics? (Deadly boring)

I hear them all wrong. Too many years spent in the headphones.

Moi? :D

1. Dr Pepper... it's sad. I'm so addicted.
2. noooooooooo idea :D
3. Almost all the lyrics to Oh L'amour, as heard by a 7 year old with just no clue:
".......i lay down and die, a mormon to blame, oh love of my heart, who's touching you now, you tore me apart, i hurt and said 'ow', monamo, broke my heart, now i'm naked for you......." :D and I STILL thought it was the prettiest song ever :)

Zoe, you are TOO funny! Your lyrics are just great!!

I forgot that my biggest vice is caffeine and sushi--who would play me? I'd love to see Russell Crowe, but more likely Horatio Sanz!!!

oooo, fun! here I go.....I think I'll go for hinesty on this one, lol!

1.)Coffee-black!
2.)Gerorge Lopez, minus the accent and he'd have to cut his hair and drop a few.
3.)A long time ago, in the DM song, "Shake the Disease", I thought he said, "You know how hard it is for me to shake the disease that takes all of my time", instead of "You know how hard it is for me to shake the disease that takes hold of my tongue"

Cool thread! Thanks Jup!

1. Sex
2. I'd play Simon in "As Good as it Gets". (Greg Kinnear's role)
3. I thought the lyrics to "The Nanny" theme were, "She was working in a bridal shop WITH FLASHY QUEENS". Turns out, it was "IN FLUSHING, QUEENS". My bad. ;)

- drew barrymore or pheobe cates (give her a job already, its been ages)
- ok... while not my mondgreen... its by far the most comical one i've heard in ages and longtime private joke btw. me and Amy

Duran Duran "The Reflex"
the orginal line: "I tell you somebody's fooling around"
what my former co worker heard: "I tell you "Tumba's" fooling around"

Damn that Tumba. He never gets anything done...

biggest vice: smoking (if it burns, I'll smoke it)
actor to play me: rich the intern from jay leno
misheard lyrics: hmmmm, i can't think of any at the moment but I know it's happened and i usually find out when i'm singing it at the top of my lungs in someone else's car.

Oh, Swank, I am laughing and laughing at "Tumba!!" Isn't Tumba a character in the Lion King? I also must admit, when I first heard Depeche's "Get the Balance Right," I mistook it for the nautical "Get the Ballast Right"

(1) What is your greatest vice? Probably EGN. I spend way too much time on here instead of working.

(2) If there were a movie of your life, who would play you? I'm not really up to speed with current actors so i'll say Harrison Ford just cause I think he's a damn good actor.

(3) What are your favourite misheard lyrics? I know there are tons but I cant think of any right now. But a friend of mine used to think the lyrics to Victim of Love were: "I've been wondering, like some kind of fool, I've been wondering, If I'm hot over you..."

And, here is a bonus question for you all: What is an exciting event that you will remember for the rest of your life? Now, we need not brag about sexual escapades here--here is an example.

When I was a mere lad of six or seven and living near Drake's Bay (SF Bay Area), I had the opportunity to sail on a replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship The Golden Hinde. My dad suggested I draw a picture of the ship and send it to England where it sailed from. Apparently the Captain liked it, and sent me an invitation to sail around the bay with some distinguished guests. What an experience!!

What memorable experiences do you all have? :)

My greatest vices would be the internet and Pepsi. I need them.

There is this one crappy Static X song where the singer seems to repeat over and over "I'm a seagull." It might be called Ostigio Undead or something like that.

Brandie's brother was imitating her on a caffeine rush... convulsing and shouting in a squeaky voice for more.

~Jupiter 4
November 14th, 2003, 05:00 PM
"I'm a seagull!" That's great!!! I've got to think of some more that I messed up. I am sure in my thirty some-odd years, I've messed up quite a bit!!

1. Well, there were alot more back then (see my post under CQ's Love and Lose thread for my life story), but I'm still addicted to tea and Numan, so I'm not entirely reformed. And, I used to like sex, does that count?

2. Jup, you have already cast Angelina Jolie to portray me, but I bet she plays every woman in your films. LOL

1 - Greatest vice... I'd say music. Can't enough enough of it. I thought of sex also, but I need music daily...

2 - Actor... to play me... a movie about my life would be a very low budget thing so I guess some unknown obscure actor nobody heard and would ever hear about again. ;)

3 - I love the "pleasure remains, soldiers burping" misheard lyrics of Enjoy the Silence

~Jupiter 4

Haw Vic! No, Angelina Jolie is not the center of all of my films...maybe Keira Knightley...but, from the way you described yourself, I just thought that might be close--unless you're one of the Spice Girls...I am still chortling at "Tumba!"

Vice: Smoking, overusing the word F**K daily, movie whore, pining

Actor: no clue...although someone British would make my life look more interesting...a curvier Kate Winslet maybe???

Misheard lyrics: well, while "tumba" is a great one, there is another Duran one, but whether it's truly misheard is a bit of a debate, cos it depends on what version you are listening to:

Electric Barbarella ...Wear the fake fur, fake pearls for me
And put on your mystery...

Now the album version...I SWEAR TO GOD he is saying wear the fake fur, fake BALLS for me... but in any remixed version it sounds like FUR, give it a listen...that Simon is such a devil ;)

~Jupiter 4
November 19th, 2003, 02:05 PM
Amy, I have the album and also swore that it was fake fur, fake balls for me...not to mention with "cortizone, kleenex, I steal!" Thank God for lyric sheets!!

My vice: A good drink every now and then...Although lately there hasn't been any drinking going on...I need a new vice :)

Who would play me in my life movie: Hmmm, good question...Well I guess John Cusak will be a busy man next year cause he'll be working on Seraphim's life story too :)

Misheard Lyrics: Stevie B's Party Your Body- "Don't you believe I can rock your booty, like no other man has done before. So come on girl it's time let's get the potty started."

Actual Lyrics- "Don't you believe I can rock your body, l;ike no other man has done before. So come on girl it's time let's get this party started."

What will I remember forever:
As for an escape or travel somewhere...I'd have to say my post-graduation trip to San Francisco...Me and two friends left right after getting home from our Disneyland Grad-Night trip...We had no sleep at all, and just packed an overnight bag and headed for the Golden Gate in my friend's Montero...We ended up meeting this guy and his fiancee in a resteraunt and as they overheard us talking about our boarding needs, he came up to our table and offered the three of us his floor space and couch in his loft right off of Haight St...So this guy Brian and his fiancee Alex took us out, showed us the city sites, went to a Brazillian dance club, and got us drunk at the bar where Alex was bartending in Berkely!!! A spur of the moment three day trip I'll never forget :D

Vice: carbs... i try to shake them... i've kicked smoking, i exercise 30 minutes a day, i don't consume any caffeine, i don't drink often, and i stay away from drugs... but i can't shake the carbs... gotta screw up my seratonin somehow I guess :)

the rest i really don't have comments on... oh wait...

until doing the cover i just did I wasn't sure of some lyrics for Tom Sawyer (by RUSH):

The World Is, The World Is,
Love and Life Are Deep...

I always thought that "Are Deep" was "Ah-Gee" and always wondered "What the fark does AhGee mean?".

Still no ideas on Actor. Personality wise I'm sort of like a younger Nick Nolte... rough around the edges but not exactly a tough guy.

Moment I will always remember:
Being at a show with my favorite band, newly reformed with all five original members (Duran Duran) and having it be the very first show in the US as this line up since the 80s, while on a special trip to California last Summer with my best friend in the world, Amy. Everything about it was magic. :)

I'm flattered by the Angelina Jolie connection, though our faces are different (I don't have her lovely full lips). She does have my hair colour and body structure though.

The Spice Girls kicked me out because I could actually sing and dance. I was Electro Cyber Goth Spice. lol

Rememered another misheard lyrics when I misheard it again in the car this morning:

Madonna's "Secret":

I know what the original lyrics are but still every time I listen to the song I always seem to hear my "alternative" version.

Original Lyrics:
Happiness lies in your own hand
It took me much too long to understand
How it could be
Until you shared your secret with me

Misheard lyrics:
Happiness lies in your own hand
It took me much too long to understand
How it could be
Until you shave your secret with me

makes sense... in a way.

"When Smokey Sings, I hear Violins..."

or my version: "When Smokey Sins, I hear Violence..."

or Paul Young's version of "Everytime You Go Away"

"everytime you go away - you take a piece of me with you"

which i hear: "everytime you go away - you take a piece of meat with you"

VICE: financially would be my music purchasing. In regard to racey vices, alcohol (i drink like a fish) and sex (as embarassing as this may be to post on here) I tend to have a bit too much of a fixation with sex. It is a joke amongst my friends. I won't go into details, but if you have seen Queer As Folk, I tend to act like a punk version of one of those characters at times. Probably not a great role model for the gay community, but it takes all types, and if somone is going to judge me by the fact that I like to f**k than f**k them!! LOL

Movie of my life: That's a tough one...I really don't know. Any suggestions?

Misheard Lyric: Problem by the Sex Pistols. When I was a kid I thought Johnny Rotten was yelling "ROB LOWE" instead of "Problem". Not realizing, at the time, that the song was recorded a bit before Mr. Lowe's fame. But if you listen to that song, it truly does sound like it. Especially at the end.

Also, from ABC...Do you remember when men wore shirts?

Which I thought was odd, because men still do...

The actual lyrics: Do you remember when men wore skirts? (So Hip it Hurts).

And the classics: Oh, say can you see, by Dawn's surly light?

Yes, Ace hardware, I need a replacement bulb for my surly lamp...

E,F, G, H, I, J, K, Elomennopee, Q, R, S.... what the hell is an elomennopee?

Vice-Marijuana, (although I'm no stoner in the sense of having to be high all day). But I do smoke almost every night during the simpsons and married with children. I hardly ever smoke while making music anymore. I have a passion for Guiness and Kesler whiskey. Food of all types too.

Actor to play me? As a kid-Edward Furlong. Adult-Mickey Rourke
But if it happens it'll probably be Haley Joel Osment and Don Knotts.

I really don't know the real lyrics, but I'm almost positive those aren't it!!

I was kind of referring to him. LOL...I used to love that show and it still holds a fun charm to it...I just find the plot lines a bit derivative and the characters COMPLETELY one dimensional...i can predict what each one is going to do and how they will react in nearly every episode. The writing is pretty bad as well. I have never found it offensive as representing the gay community as a bunch of drug taking whores, as some have. I was more concerned about it making us all look like one dimensional, immature, bores...lol...Anyway...you know I love you too amy...
