2003 is the year for League fans.... And here is another new release which features Phil Oakey on vocals. "Rock And Roll Is Dead" by Kings Have Long Arms:

The video is a MUST see for old sci-fi/horror movie buffs. The "Oakenstein" concept is brilliant. The tune itself is quite good, and anytime you can see Phil blow up rock stars with red beams of light from his eyes, you know it has to be good...

The single comes out Nov. 24th (in the UK).

Thanks for the link. I saw a still of Oakenstein and thought I would choke from laughter. Great concept and great song. I'm impressed with everything I've heard from Kings Have Long Arms. Their track, Re-enter the Tone Deaf is phenomenal. They are like a rock n roll human league. There is a compilation floating around in some import sections called Northern Electronic and it seems to mostly be bands from Sheffield. It has KHLA, Fat Truckers, White Trash, I Monster, etc. I think it's one of the best comps of the year.

Yeah, once they break out into that dissonnant electronic jam towards the end of the song, I can't help but get out of my seat. I almost have to get up just thinking about it. Gawd, what a great song!!

I have that comp too : "Northern Electronic" a coworker of mine turned me on to it a few months back. there are a few songs i really like but, sorry to say it's not one of my fav. comps ... i'll have to ck this video out tho!
