Dependent Club Invasion

Who else bought this great 3-single pack from Dependent Records?

I received my copy today, and I really like it. The Seabound single is my favourite so far, and it was the main reason why I bought this pack. The other singles kinda came along as a bonus for me :P The main mix of Contact is just awesome, as are the other two mixes. Also, the Covenant's remix of Torn sounds good, though it's a bit repetitive. The Attic is kinda boring at first, but at about the halfway of the song it gets a lot better.

My second favourite has to be Dismantled's single. I have to admit that I've never heard any other song by this band, but I still think "Exit" rocks, and both remixes of "The Shift" sound really nice too. I haven't listened to the other songs on this mcd yet, so I can't really comment on them yet... ;)

My least favourite is the Pride and Fall's single (again, I've never heard a single song from this band before...), though it isn't bad either. I think I like The Approach the most on this mcd. Paradon, on the other hand, sounds kinda, well, basic EBM song to me :/ Though I have to admit, I don't really have that much experience on EBM/Industrial music yet...


So, here's my opinion about this mcd pack. Now I'm curious on hearing other peoples opinions of it. So those of you who have bought it, comment it here please :)

Ive had it for some time now. I agree with you, my favorite so far is the Seabound Cds. I like the Haujobb mix the most. If that isnt a danceclub song, I dunno what is. ;p

The Dismantled had to grow on me. Their first CD/Cds was very old FLA sounding imo, to a tiny degree. All in all, I think Dismantled had a unique disc and I loved the first album/Cds.
The Cds from the Box Set was completely different. No treated vocals, slower, etc. And I hated it.

But after more and more listens, I really like it. The song is very catchy and I find it in my head as im walking to and fro around the city. very good and different release for them.

The Pride and Fall..well..I had the P&F CD but I gave it away. It just didnt do it for me. The Cds is nice, its solid and the songs are good. But its not something personally that I would be crazy for.
But then, I dont normally listen to much in the way of bands on the order of Pride and Fall. For that genere of music, its not too bad at all.

Id definately suggest people check the box set out!

Yeah but they better hurry, its pretty much sold out. There are just some left in the stores and some in our office...Have a nice weekend.

I have been unable to find the boxset here in Toronto, it looks like I will be buying the individual singles.

Just got the box myself, bought it for the Dismantled single as I loved their album but the other singles are a real bonus.

Great idea, great packaging, great value - don't miss it.
