Yes! I am so excited! Apple has made iTunes available for Windows today, and let me tell Media Player, MUSICMATCH Jukebox, WinAmp, and Real Player... this is how it is done!
I've been using iTunes on my Mac at work since its inception and I've been sorely disappointed in the players made for PC's.
iTunes has a fantastic interface, it is easy to organize your files, it offers full range of options for ripping and burning CD's, and there is no ad clutter. The iTunes store is very promising for independent artists. And there are even electronic radio stations available... And it's all FREE!
If you have a PC, give it a try. I know if you are Mac-user, you would consider using nothing else!
My favorite feature is the dynamic playlists...
And oh, to state the near obvious, it is available at apple.com.

Under Hard Rock/Metal (no clue why it's in there), check out RantRadio. It's an amazing station.
I ¤¤¤¤ing love iTunes. It's a fantastic program. I'm glad I finally have it on my PC.

I concur with the rest of you chaps. iTunes is the best program for music that I've ever used. I don't use the iTunes store at all, but the rest of it kicks major nuts. I love the playlists, it's super easy to rip and burn, organizing your music is way simple, converting tracks to wav or mp3 is a breeze. It's all right there, laid out really well. The visualizer is fun too.

No Kevin, I haven't moved yet. Had to push the move back a month. I had my tonsils taken out last Monday. Still recovering. I'll be playing a show on November 8th in San Antonio with Desamar, and a few days after that I'm taking off.

I'm glad iTunes is out for PCs now but...
Does anyone else find the compression format they use to be as awful as I do?
I previewed quite a few tracks and heard really bad distortions and artifacts that I honestly rarely notice with mp3. They claim the aac format is superior to mp3 at the same filesize but I find this to be really suspect.
And if you're paying $0.99 a track (which isn't much less than the prices for a full 1411 kbps CD if want the whole album), then I'd want something that sounds better than the quality of the previews.

I'm ripping MP3s with the same ripper/codec I've always used. As for the 99 cent songs, I'm not buying albums like that. Just picking up a few random songs I wanna listen to =]

Hehehe i think i'll stick to my cheap real player or my handy dandy DBPowerAmp.. They're so much more compact and use much much less memory than itunes.. itunes is a little memory vampire.. When i was using it on the macs at my school, half the time the bloody G3's would freeze!.. so yea.. VIVA LA FREE (And good quality)MUSIC! i'll just buy the cds whenever i can find them at a friggin' store in this area... :: Grumbles at her horrible luck in finding blutengel cds ::

iTunes rocks. Many of us used the MAC version for several years here at work, but now that it's available for PC, we're going nutz sharing our music. heh.
Anyways, I was so impressed and happy to be able to have iTunes on my PCs at home, that I went out and got an iPod as well. I'm in music heaven.
As for Rant Radio...it's one of my favorite online radio stations. I usually listen to it through my TiVo at home. It's awesome to have it on in my living room's surround sound while company is over.
iTunes rocks my world!

I am going to try it out. I have used it before on Macs and it was alright but I like my little winamp player on my PC.

I think AAC sounds a lot better than mp3 (at the same bitrate). Nevertheless, it's not good enough for me to consider purchasing downloads rather than CDs.

I agree on both points. I too would rather buy the CD rather then buy mp3s....unless I only liked 1 song from a certain CD. :-D

Yeah. I've been using winamp since pretty much the beginning on PCs. Now though, I'm hooked on iTunes for playing music, but for playing random video clips, I still use winamp,...since iTunes doesn't support playing videos...or does it? Anyone know for sure?

I love iTunes on the Mac. I've been using it since its release last spring.
I wish they would add some decent synthpop to the selection, though.

CDBaby.com is working to secure digital distribution for many of the independent CDs they carry (including ours) to the online music vendors.
Though this hasn't happened yet, this will hopefully increase the number of indy songs including synthpop available on the iTunes music store.
